Dear Ms. Spencer:

This letter is to endorse the inclusion of Route 68 in Logan County Kentucky in the Kentucky Scenic Byways program.

Logan County Kentucky is rich in history and has many areas of interest for the traveler. Shakertown at South Union is world known as a major attraction with a museum and various scheduled programs.

Auburn City has several festivals at various times of the year and hosts many different antique shops.

Russellville City hosts the Annual week long Tobacco and Heritage Festival each fall. The Russellville Historic District has an outstanding collection of turn of the century homes and buildings. Jesse James robbed the Southern Bank in Russellville. A walking tour reveals these and many more interesting historic homes, churches, government and commercial buildings.

The famous Jackson-Dickenson Duel was fought near Adairville in South Logan County on May 30, 1806. The great revival know as the “Second Awakening” originated at the Red River Meeting House in South Logan.

Logan County has much to offer the traveler on U.S. 68.
